As a small humane society our website is a valuable tool in connecting with the public.  Sam Menchyk recently designed our website.  It is exceptional. The new site is modern and professional;   Sam created ideas to drive and increase traffic to the sections we most want potential adopters and donors to visit.

The site is user friendly, not only for visitors, but for those of us who routinely update information such as our constantly changing pool of animals available for adoption.  Sam is excellent at his craft and he makes learning a pleasant experience.   We are incredibly pleased with the final product.

”Sam was the coach of the Pittsburgh Piranhas Women’s Ice Hockey Team and handled their web image. Not only was he a calming and supportive influence on the team, but he also pushed the team to achieve much more than many thought likely.

When he came to the team, many of the players were not playing up to their potential. With Sam at the helm the team as a whole and individual players obtained great success. He lead the team to multiple tournament championships and at least one league championship.

All the while, Sam maintained a functional, professional, and innovative website. The website had the standard functions of a team website, roster, schedule, etc., and also contained opportunities for sponsors to become involved, players to pay their fees. The graphics were outstanding and by far the team had the best website in the league, if not the best for any women’s team in the U.S. The site was recognized by website evaluators for it’s innovation and helped the team to gain much attention and respect by all of those who viewed it.

For more than 12 years, I was employed as a web developer and graphic designer with Consolidated Communications / Nauticom Internet Services. I have been responsible for several successful e-marketing campaigns for a broad array of clients. My work in graphic design, development, programming and marketing has been applied to organizations as diverse as professional sports, non-profits, e-commerce, politics, social entrepreneurship, real estate, and industry.

In 2004, I co-founded the grassroots “Slots for Mario” and “Pittsburgh First” campaigns designed to generate support for funding a new arena to host the Pittsburgh Penguins. This campaign collected 38,152 signatures and prompted extensive radio, television, and print media coverage throughout the United States and Canada. My work was recognized by the Pittsburgh Penguins and Isle of Capri and featured locally on television and radio stations KDKA, WPXI, WTAE, Fox Sports Pittsburgh, Fox Sports Radio AM 970, ESPN Radio AM 1250, KDKA AM 1020, WDVE FM102.5, WDSY FM 107.9 FM and WKQV AM 1410.

Other experience I have include four years working in the non-profit sector as the youth sports coordinator for the Butler County Family YMCA. In this role I developed, implemented, marketed and evaluated all written and electronic materials related to the administration of the youth sports program.

I also was able to successfully blend my technical, recreation, and non-profit skills as Head Coach & President of the Pittsburgh Piranhas Women’s Ice Hockey team from 2002–2008. By applying targeted marketing strategies as well as fund-raising, team-building, communication, community involvement, and web development skills, I was able to build this team from an initial base of nine players to a championship-winning program in the Pennsylvania-Ohio Women’s Hockey Association.
